MPISD – News

American National Bank Chairman of the Board and CEO, Brian Niblett, and Executive Vice President, Cashier, and CFO, Vikki Goates, present a check to the MPISD Education Foundation. The donation was used to fund New Teacher Grants for $100 each to be used on classroom supplies.

Mount Pleasant High School holds August graduation.

Mount Pleasant High School held its summer graduation ceremony in the MPHS Auditorium on Friday, August 16. Seventeen students completed credit requirements over the summer, including two early graduates. Craig Bailey, MPHS Principal, presented the summer class of 2019 to Judd Marshall, MPISD Superintendent, and certified that the students met all requirements for graduation. Graduates and their families were treated to cake and punch in the lobby of the auditorium following the ceremony. Students graduating in August included Aner J. Baltazar, Adam Ulises Caamal, Eleazar Chavez, Kevin Diaz, Jahiara Flores, Laura Patricia Gomez, Omar Hernandez, Shamour Jerome Hines, Magaly Loredo, Hunter Austin Mace, Carlos Daniel Macias Rocha, Blazan Bud Miller, Omero Perez, Radames Rodriguez, and Ramiro Giovanni Vargas. Two students, Jannet Barrientos, and Ally Mathis McCrumby, completed their requirements a year ahead of schedule by attending summer school and taking classes at NTCC.

Tiger Dolls hold Lil’ Drill sign-ups.

The Mount Pleasant High School Tiger Dolls are currently seeking girls from three-years-old up to fourth grade to participate in their annual Lil’ Drill program. Participants will sit with their Big Sis during the first quarter and learn all about the Tiger Dolls during three home football games, scheduled for September 20, October 4, and October 18. The cost is $40 per child with a $10 discount for additional siblings. The price includes a t-shirt, spirit surprise, Homecoming mum, and entrance for the participant to the three football games. Forms can be picked up and dropped off with any current Tiger Doll or from the MPHS front office, and are due back by September 6. For more information, contact the Tiger Doll Director Jaton Broach at [email protected] or 903-575-2020.
