Mt Pleasant’s Downtown District

The City of Mount Pleasant Community Services Department partners with business owners and volunteers to implement promotion and revitalization of our community. A commitment to preserving the authenticity of Mount Pleasant’s downtown district as well as the creation of a vibrant and sustainable community for the entire city are the primary goals of Mount Pleasant’s Community Services Department.

Volunteers dedicated thousands of hours to raise awareness of our many attractions through high-quality events, design and business assistance and numerous other special events and
projects.

Mount Pleasant is one of 87 communities designated as an accredited Main Street community in Texas. As part of the Texas Main Street program, the selected Main Street communities seek to preserve, promote and energize their historic downtown districts through a Four Point approach involving organization, economic development, thoughtful design, and promotion.

The Community Services Department works alongside the Main Street Association for downtown events such as Hot Night, Cool Music and Christmas on the Square, with volunteers and civic organizers for the Dellwood Park Campout and with non-profit community-based organizations for annual events such as
Special Catch, the Easter Egg Hunt, and the Halloween Carnival.

Mount Pleasant works hard to raise the quality of life for all citizens of our city, but to continue to produce events that you and your family may have grown to enjoy and love; we need your help.
Without sponsorship, these community events are not possible.

Live music fills the downtown square on selected Fridays from 8:00 pm until midnight in April, June, August, and October drawing lively crowds who enjoy extended shopping hours and the opportunity to hear professional bands from varied genres. Sponsoring this concert series is an excellent way for any company/organization to show community support and help provide more entertainment for all of Titus County and beyond to enjoy.
