Multiple FDs Battle Lamar County Grass Fire

Volunteer firefighters from  the Hopewell, Tigertown, Direct., Roxton and Powderly departments responded to a large grass fire Wednesday afternoon along CR 33500. The blaze, which is believed to have started in a brush pile on the property did not spread quickly, because of the recent rainfall, and was contained in about an hour and 15 minutes.
