Musk Calls “Gigafactories” Money Furnaces

After moving the Tesla headquarters to the new Austin gigafactory, CEO Elon Musk says production is impacted significantly by the months-long supply chain shortage and four-decade-high inflation. In a recent chat with the Tesla Owners Club, Musk calls the Austin gigafactory a “gigantic money furnace” He says the Austin and German gigafactories are both currently losing billions of dollars.
