The Paris Lady Cats look to remain undefeated in district as they visit Pittsburg. Rivercrest hosts James Bowie. Detroit travels to Avery while Sulphur Bluff is at Clarksville.
The Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball team is the No. 25 ranked team in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association coaches’ poll. After falling out of the poll last week, the Lions jumped back in following two Lone Star Conference road wins. The Lions have been nationally ranked in 18 of the last 19 AVCA polls. The Lions are coming off of an undefeated road weekend, defeating divisional foes Cameron and Arkansas-Fort Smith.
The Dallas Stars continue opening season woes as they drop yesterday’s game in Buffalo 4-0. Dallas is 1-5-1 to open the season. Good news for the Stars is the last time they opened the season like this they went to the Stanley Cup.
To the delight of Texas Rangers fans everywhere, the St. Louis Cardinals have been pushed to the brink of elimination in the NLCS. Washington now leads 3-0 after an 8-1 win last night. Game 4 is tonight at 8:08 pm in Washington on TBS.

The schedule for both the AL and NL Championship Series could be altered because of the forecast of heavy rain in New York on Wednesday.
With the possibility that ALCS Game 4 between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees is a washout for Wednesday night, Major League Baseball is considering moving a potential NLCS Game 5 between the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals to that night. The NLCS game is currently scheduled to start at 4:08 pm ET, but on days there is only one game, MLB prefers to have the game in prime time.
In Monday Night NFL Football, Mason Crosby hit a field goal on the last play of the game to give Green Bay a 23-22 win over Detroit.
The New England Patriots are expected to re-sign veteran tight end, Benjamin Watson. When the Patriots released Watson on Oct. 7, head coach Bill Belichick said the team didn’t have a roster spot for him upon his return from a four-game NFL suspension for performance-enhancing drugs. But injuries have altered the picture, so Watson, who spent training camp with the club and has experience with the system, will return and project as an immediate contributor.
