NE Texas Man Sentenced For Intoxication Assault

A 54-year-old man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty in Bowie County to Intoxication Assault. He was charged with crashing into the fountain in front of the downtown Texarkana federal building. His passenger, 62-year-old Donnie Joe Smith suffered serious and permanent traumatic brain injuries. The bar in Texarkana, Arkansas that served Terry and Smith prior to the accident has been sued in Miller County District Court but denies any wrongdoing on its part.
