Producers sold 3,292 head of quality pre-conditioned cattle Friday at the February 18 Northeast Texas Beef Improvement Organization (NETBIO) cattle sale.
A total of 153 producers/members consigned and sold cattle in the sale that enjoyed a good attendance of buyers, sellers, and visitors.
“The cattle all looked very good and were in excellent condition,” said David Fowler, co-owner of the livestock commission and a NETBIO director. “The buyers who come to the NETBIO sales look for quality cattle, and it was again evident that our producers offered the quality cattle they were looking for,” Fowler added.
The cattle prices were excellent in all categories, with buyers paying an average of $927.50 per head for the pre-conditioned cattle.
Fowler said there was a good amount of bidding and buying activity over the Internet. As a result of the online activity, buyers purchased 1,156-head of cattle online.
The next NETBIO sale will be on Friday, March 18, 2022. All the NETBIO sales are held at the Sulphur Springs Livestock Auction Market and begin at 1:00 pm.
The NETBIO Pre-Conditioned Stocker and Feeder Calf Sale give producers a marketplace to offer their pre-conditioned calves and yearlings to buyers in load lot quantities. NETBIO holds eight pre-conditioned cattle sales per year.
