NETBIO January 2023 Sale

A big crowd of buyers, sellers, and visitors welcomed openly the January 2023 Northeast Texas Beef Improvement Organization’s (NETBIO) pre-conditioned cattle sale Friday.

NETBIO board member and Sulphur Springs Livestock Commission co-owner David Fowler said, “It was a good sale, and the producers continue to do a good job of getting the cattle ready for the sales.”

A total of 245 producers/members consigned 5,687 head of cattle to the sale sold during the afternoon auction. Fowler noted that the market was good and that 30 buyers purchased the cattle for an average of $967.30 per head. Some of those buyers were watching the sale on the Internet and bought nearly 2,152.

Fowler said he wanted to thank all of the workers at the auction market “for a job well done.” And he added, “They always do such a great job, and Joe Don and I appreciate their efforts.”

NETBIO has two more sales coming up in February and March, and producers are already pre-conditioning their cattle in preparation for those events. The next sale will be on February 17 at the Sulphur Springs Livestock Commission.

Following that sale will be the March 17 sale. Both sales will begin at 1:00 pm. The café will be open, so come early, look over the cattle and have lunch before the sale.

The NETBIO Pre-Conditioned Stocker and Feeder Calf Sale give producers a market to offer their pre-conditioned calves and yearlings in load lot quantities. It is the marketing arm for members of the organization, and they have eight sales throughout the year.
