New Pittsburg Police Chief

Pittsburg swore in longtime Pittsburg Police Officer Matthew Lemarr as the department’s Chief. He has served for 19 years and took over for Richard Penn, who retired after 28 years as Chief. He said one of his biggest priorities is getting staff because they are short-handed like most police departments. He said another goal is to regain trust, so the community does not view police officers as adversaries.
