Mt Pleasant’s Fire Department responded to a structure fire Sunday afternoon around 5:00 pm to 688 CR 4810. The caller claimed her husband had set the building on fire intentionally, and the fire got out of hand. No other structures were in danger. First Responders reported to a wreck that occurred near Mt Pleasant Chapel Hill School. The location was 4735. The call came in around 9:45 Saturday evening.
Thunderstorms cropped up Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Naples law enforcement reported wind damage just before 6:00 pm. A tree downed a power line on FM 4507. New Boston said the storm destroyed a power line on Bowie County Road 4507. About 5 miles Southwest of DeKalb, law enforcement reported trees on a powerline on US 259. All caused by the same storm.
If you’ve complained about how hot it is, there is a reason. Mt Pleasant broke the record high of 104 Saturday. The old record was 103 set in 1974.
