The Sixth Court of Appeals has ordered a new trial for a Mineola man accused of shooting a state trooper in the face. The court ruled that 53-year-old Timothy Charles Parmer had ineffective counsel at his trial and the judge committed reversible error. He has been transferred from prison back to Wood County for a hearing and then trial in September. He is currently serving a life sentence.
