New Trial Ordered For Man Convicted Of Sexual Assault

The Sixth District Court of Appeals has ordered a new trial for a Northeast Texas man convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Joshua Glenn Jacobs was sentenced to life in prison in Bowie County. The sentence was mandatory based on his status as a registered sex offender.The reversal was based on a ruling by the original trial judge during jury selection.
