NLISD Board Passes Resolution Opposing Vouchers

The North Lamar ISD Board of Trustees passed a resolution at this week’s meeting that calls on the state legislature to reject any bills that call for taking money away from public schools and redirecting it to private schools in the form of vouchers. In addition, the resolution claims that private schools must adhere to different academic and financial standards than public schools. Governor Abbott strongly advocates for what is known as “school choice.”
