No Indictment(s) In Winnsboro Toddler’s Death

The results of an investigation into the death of Winnsboro toddler Madison Cannon were presented to the Wood County grand jury this week by a special prosecutor from the Attorney General’s Office.  The panel declined to hand down any indictments in the case. Autopsy results showed that  16 month old Madison died of blunt force trauma to the head and although there were persons of interest in the case, no arrests were ever made even though her death was ruled a homicide.  A statement issued by the Winnsboro Police Department called it a “very sad and disappointing day “ for the department.
