No Vote On Hopkins County Solar Farm Tax Abatement

A whole house was on hand Monday morning for the Hopkins County Commissioners Court regular meeting. Most were there to hear the court’s decision on granting a Tax Abatement to Sligsol LLC for a Solar Farm project in Western Hopkins County. Those who chose to speak were overwhelmingly against it. After the discussion, Judge Robert Newsom called for a vote, but the proposal failed because of a lack of a motion. The court also approved the purchase of a John Deere 6110M with a Diamond Boom Mower for Precinct 3 at a cost of over $200,000.
