North Lamar High School junior Sarah Mijares, a student in Lena Spencer’s AP Art class, has been chosen as a top-ten finalist for the “People’s Choice” award in the Fourth District of Texas Congressional Art Competition.  The annual competition, sponsored by the Congressional Institute, gives students in Rep. John Ratcliffe’s 18 county area the opportunity to share their talent with visitors to the Capital.

To vote for the “People’s Choice” award, Rep. Ratcliffe has opened up a two-week voting period on his Facebook page.  Voters can log on to https://www.facebook.com/RepRatcliffe/photos/a.1755820824631527.1073741831.1592038051009806/1755823791297897/?type=3&theater to cast their ballot for Mijares.  The winner along with the second and third place judge’s selections will be announced May 16.
