When three North Lamar Panther football players put together a video for YouTube, they had no idea that their talent would be one of five hundred winners across the United States, and the only one in northeast Texas, to win the Powerade ‘Power Your School’ Campaign.
Reenacting a typical workout and adding humor, seniors Travis Coston, Monty Ponder, and Gage Brown detailed the need for Powerade after workouts. Their entry was judged on school need, creativity, and quality of the submission. A total of $1 million was awarded to the winning high school athletic programs across the country.
Powerade, a sports drink, is manufactured and marketed by The Coca-Cola Company. Through Coca-Cola Give, anyone with a Coke product can help fund extra-curricular activities for school sports, technology, art and/or school supplies.
