In the regularly scheduled meeting Monday night, North Lamar ISD School Board approved the recommendation to hire Brittney Tisdell as the Pantherettes head basketball coach.
Tisdell is in her 11th year of coaching and has a reputation for motivating her players to win. She began her coaching career at Cooper ISD before moving to Paris High. Her first head coach position was at Corsicana-Mildred, where she took the team from a five-win season to winning 16 games, advancing to the playoffs, and picked to win district the following year. Tisdell then took the head position at Sulphur Springs, making playoffs all three years and winning district this past year.
“I am excited to be named the head girls basketball coach for North Lamar,” said Tisdell. “I know what an outstanding tradition girls basketball has at North Lamar, and I am honored to be a part of that. I am eager to start working with the girls and getting to know them. My main goal for the girls is to be unselfish and value the team above everything.”
North Lamar Girls Athletic Coordinator Ashley Endsley said, “We are excited to have Coach Tisdell on staff at North Lamar. She will bring a lot of energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the girl’s basketball program and the overall coaching staff!”
