North Texas Physician Remanded Until Trial

U.S. Magistrate Judge Christine Nowak has ruled that a doctor with clinics in Paris and Sherman charged in seven overdose deaths must remain in jail until trial. The lawyer for Dr. Howard Gregg Diamond had asked that his client is released on his own recognizance if he gave up his medical license and the ID he used to write prescriptions. Diamond is accused of prescribing powerful opioid pain meds for no medical reason and faces up to life in prison if convicted.
