Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Doctor Keven Ellis of Lufkin as chairman of the Texas State Board of Education. Ellis is the District 9 representative on the state board and represents 1.7 million residents in Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Grayson, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rockwall, Rusk, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood counties. Dr. Ellis is a Chiropractor.
