It is with great sadness that The Department announces the death of Detective Manuel “Chris” Widner. Detective Widner passed away due to complications from COVID-19 on the morning of August 22, 2021. Detective Widner began his career with the department on May 3, 2010, serving as a Patrol Officer and Detective. He was a member of the Department’s Honor Guard as well as a trained Hostage Negotiator.
He was loved and admired by those who served with him and lived a life of service to the citizens of Paris. Please keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
