Oklahoma AG Supports Chickasaw, Choctaw Lawsuits Against Opioid Manufacturers

Choctaw Nation Chief Gary Batton, Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby, and Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter met Friday and announced the two tribal nations are filing a lawsuit against the nation’s leading manufacturers of opioids. The tribal leaders say thousands of Native Americans have died as the result of the opioid epidemic. The suit claims that drug manufacturers lied about the highly addictive nature of the drugs to healthcare providers.
