Oklahoma Considering Ending Income Tax

Oklahoma Gov Kevin Stitt

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is considering calling for the end of a state income tax during the special session he’s called for October. Nine states currently don’t have a state income tax. Oklahoma’s current income tax rate ranges from 0.25% to 4.75%, depending on the individual’s income. Speaker of the House Charles McCall said legislation to get the income tax rate to zero would have triggers; when the state’s revenue grows, the rate would decrease.
