One Arrested After Threatening Two East Texas Schools

Grand Saline police  have arrested a person  for  allegedly threatening on social media to shoot up  schools in Grand Saline and Van  The suspect made the threats on Instagram under the name Killer_clown_gshs.  The account has since been closed. Although the district was confident the threats were a hoax, the district was on heightened alert during the investigation and officers were on campus throughout the morning.

Grand Saline ISD posted the following statement on the arrest on social media .

“Grand Saline ISD parents and community,

The Grand Saline Police Department has arrested the individual responsible for the social media threats. We will continue to be on heightened awareness as the state and country continue to experience similar hoaxes. Thank you for your patience and for allowing us to educate your children.”
