One Arrested By Reno Police After Traffic Stop




Reno Police stopped a vehicle at about 1am Wednesday morning  for speeding in the 5400 block of Lamar Road. As the officer made contact with the driver, an odor of burnt marijuana was observed, along with the car having two passengers with the driver.
The driver was identified as Willie Ricks Jr., 20 years old of Detroit, Texas, and was questioned about odor of marijuana and informed a search would be conducted. Ricks then volunteered the location of marijuana in the vehicle and his person and was placed under arrest.
Ricks was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces, a misdemeanor, and transported to Lamar County Jail. Ricks was also issued a warning for the speeding violation.
The other two passengers were released and had no involvement in the matter.
