One Dead In Fatal Pickup vs Pedestrian Crash




State troopers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at ab out 3:30am Thursday on IH-20, five miles north of the city of Tyler in Smith County.  Preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on IH-20 in the inside lane after passing a truck-tractor semi-trailer.  A pedestrian was very near the westbound inside lane and yellow stripe.  The Chevrolet struck the pedestrian.  The pedestrian has been identified as Andrew Griffin, 47 years-old of Waxahachie.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by JP Shamburger, his body taken to Harmon Undertaking in Tyler.  The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Heather Roussere, 32 years-old of Alba.
