One Killed In Crash Near Avinger

One person was killed in a crash Monday night on FM 729 about 7 miles southeast of Avinger. State Troopers say a pickup driven by  59-year-old  Alex Samples of Avinger failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, overturned and hit a utility pole, ejecting Samples. He was transported to a Shreveport hospital where he was pronounced dead. A passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
