Onsite Visitation Canceled At Hopkins And Lamar County Jails

Due to COVID-19, on-site visitation at the Hopkins County Jail is no longer being offered. NCIC, the county’s video visitation contractor, will provide two free offsite visits. For more information, contact the jail by phone at 903-438-4040.

From Lamar County, Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration for the State of Texas to include all counties. In the declaration, Governor Abbott ordered the temporary suspension of visitation at all local jails and Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities. This suspension is in effect until terminated by the Governor or until the disaster declaration is lifted or expires. The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office understands the value of the visitation process and will resume the normal visitation schedule as soon as the restrictions are lifted by the Governor.
