Opening Day For Trails This Saturday

 

Saturday, April 7, is “Opening Day for Trails” for hundreds of Rails to Trails across America. And the Northeast Texas Trail is at the top of the list of those celebrating with activities all along its beautiful 130-mile corridor. There are a wealth of fun-filled family activities created to provide an enjoyable day of experiencing nature and that beautiful Texas spring. It also provides a chance to discover a bit of what the Northeast Texas Trail has to offer 365 days every year. Here’s a brief rundown of events taking place from New Boston to Farmersville and with a healthy dose of fun in Paris.

 

Trail de Paris- Paris- ASA Archery Tournament has the Trail de Paris closed between Collegiate and US 271. Butterfly Garden & Herpetology showcase at 12-noon. Free Yoga Sessions 9:00 am and 10:30 am at Yoga Park. Walk with the Doc – Meeting at 9:30 at the Historic Depot on Bonham St & walk on west Trail de Paris extension.

 

Reno Rail Trail – Reno Parks and Trail Committee Community Scavenger Hunt 7:00 am-7:00 pm. Photo scavenger hunt with prizes. Coordinated thru their Reno Parks and Trail Committee & NETT’s Reno Board Rep Amanda Willows on facebook.

Blossom/Prairiland Trail
Blossom -Greater Blossom Development Association 1st Annual Color Fun Run 5k & 1-mile walk – 9:00 am at Blossom Community Park.

Prairiland Trail – Nature and Bird Watching Walk. 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. Beginning at Lamar/Red River County Line Rd (CR 2113) and heading East. Led by Red River Chapter Texas Master Naturalist Dave Drake.
