Panola County Grand Jury Indicts Man Accused Of Killing Deputy

The 123rd District Court accuses Gregory Newson, 48, of Louisiana, shooting and killing Panola County Deputy Christopher Dickerson last New Year’s Eve. Allegedly, Newsom abruptly jumped out of his vehicle and opened fire when Dickerson pulled him over around 2:00 am in Carthage. Officials captured Newson following a chase and wreck in Shreveport.
