Parents Of Injured High School Football Player Sues Helmet Maker

The parents of a Northeast Texas high school football player who was gravely injured in 2017 during a game has sued the manufacturer of the football helmet he was wearing. Scott Akins, who played for the James Bowie Simms Pirates, was 17 when he suffered a major head injury that left him a quadriplegic. Akins was wearing a reconditioned Riddell Revolution Speed helmet when he was injured.
