Paris Police Chief Richard Salter
The Paris City Council has approved the appointment of Richard Salter to be the new Chief of Police. Salter began his law enforcement career as a police officer in San Antonio before joining the federal Drug Enforcement Agency. He worked in Houston, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., and Oklahoma before being promoted to the Special Agent in Charge of the Omaha, Nebraska office, where he was in charge of a five-state area. He retired in January because of the Administration’s age limit for drug officers.
