The Paris City Council will discuss a proposed public transportation system for the city at tonight’s meeting. Under the proposal, the city would put up $25,000 for the system, which will be run by the Ark Texas Council of Governments with a $100,000 grant. Senior citizens and disabled people will be able to ride for free, all others would pay $1.The United Way will also help with “Emerging Needs Funds” . Bus service is expected to begin in June and provide about 80,000 rides a year.
