Paris Community Theatre Presenting Neil Simon’s “Rumors”

At a large, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce. Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and wife, Chris, must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.

The production is being directed by PJC Drama Instructor, Will Walker.“The play is about rumors and out of control gossip,” Walker says. “These are four couples, they’re lying – they’re telling rumors. It’s a funny story about miscommunication and I think that this rings true in today’s society. It’s getting harder and harder to tell what’s the truth and what’s the rumor. In the days of social media, rumors fly around faster than they did in 1988.”

The Cast includes Stephen Dunken, Mandy Wilson Hale, Derek Ray Dacus, Tammy Glaze, Kevin Wickersham, Lisa Martin, Austen Naron, Gisselle Benitez, Wendy Packard Hamaker, and Daniel Martinez.

Performances begin on April 6 and run through April 15, Friday-Sunday. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 pm and Sunday performances begin at 2:30 pm. The theater opens 30 minutes prior to show time. “Rumors” contains adult language and situation.Parental discretion is advised. For tickets or more information please visit www.pctonstage.com.
