Paris Community Theatre

Paris CT

(PARIS, Texas) — The Paris Community Theatre is currently looking to hire three (3) new teachers for the Children’s Theatre and art programs. Tim J. Wood will be moving from our Creative Dramatics 1 (Pre-K – 1st) class to replace Laura Hutchings in our 5th – 7th class. We will also be replacing Kelley Turner (2nd – 4th) who was unable to stay as she continues her education. “Both Laura and Kelley have been fantastic teachers and will be missed by everyone”, says PCT Board member and Children’s Theatre coordinator, Tammy Glaze.

At the same time, we are excited to announce the expansion of our education program, as we bring back the PCTeens (8th – 12th) and the Children’s Art Program. Both programs were very popular in the past, and we look forward to adding them back to our list of offerings.

Dr. Jean Campbell started the Paris Community Theatre program. Theatre classes teach children not only the fundamentals of acting, but also help build self-confidence and public speaking skills. Several of our students from this year’s children’s show “Cinderella and the Substitute Fairy Godmother” have earned significant roles in our opening PCT show, “Addams Family: A New Musical”.

The current job openings are for theater teachers for grades Pre-K – 1st, 2nd – 4th, and 8th – 12th, plus an art teacher for ages 8-12. Interested and qualified applicants can apply on-line at pctonstage.com/employment_opportunities, or may send a cover letter and resume to Tammy Glaze at tkglaze@hotmail.com by the August 10th deadline.
