Many Northeast Texas first responders have been deployed to the areas expected to be hit hardest by Hurricane Harvey. Paris EMS paramedics Russell Thrasher and Chris Shoemate have been deployed to the coast to work with victims of the storm. Each was driving one of the Paris disaster response vehicles, loaded with equipment and supplies for treatment.
The new ambus and six paramedics from Sulphur Springs have been deployed to join other first responders in San Antonio. The Paris and Sulphur Springs contingents will be involved in the health care aspect of the disaster response and come in after the first rescuers, Texas Task Force 1, has retrieved people from immediate danger.
