An apparent motorcycle crash Sunday morning claimed the life of a Paris firefighter. He was identified as 24-year-old Layton Slade Baker who had been with the department since April of 2017. His body was seen by a passerby in the ditch, who stopped to check on him and called 9-1-1. Baker was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no witnesses to the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
