Paris High School Band named NETEX Grand Champion
The Paris High School Band competed in the Northeast Texas Marching Invitational, also known as NETEX, at Texas A&M University-Commerce last Friday. The event allows 1A to 5A high schools to compete for “Best in Class” awards as well as trophies for Division I (Superior) ratings. The band received a Division I rating, Best in Class 4A, and Overall Best Band of the entire contest. Color Guard was named Best in Class 4A and Overall Best Color Guard of the competition. Percussion was also named Best in Class 4A and Overall Best Percussion. Last Tuesday, the Paris Band received first divisions from all Judges at the Region 4 UIL Marching Contest. The Band advances to the 4A Area C Marching Competition in Nacogdoches Saturday (Oct. 29) week.
