Paris Man Arrested For Assault With A Deadly Weapon

Paris Police arrested 51-year-old Lonnie Bassett after responding to a disturbance in the 400-block of Graham St. Bassett had allegedly entered the property demanding to speak with a person that no longer lived there, became agitated and began swinging a hatchet at the victim. Bassett was later found in the 300-block of W. Kaufman St. but resisted arrest and assaulted the officer. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a public servant, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
