Paris PD Activity

On December 19, officers on an unrelated activity recognized Justin Ryan Winchester. He was in the 1800-block of Lamar Avenue. A warrant check revealed that he had three warrants, two from the Paris Police Department and one out of Lamar County Sherriff’s Office. Warrants ranged from drug paraphernalia charges to Criminal Trespass. He was arrested without incident, booked and transported to Lamar County Jail.

Officers responded to the 2700-block of N. Main St. in regards to a reported theft of a tractor, shredder, and trailer. A suspect had failed to return the items to the owner after renting them. An investigation by the Auto Theft Task Force is ongoing.

An officer was dispatched to a Civil Standby in the 400-block of SW 16th St. While there, he was advised of an assault with a knife that had occurred the previous day involving the same two individuals.

Officers were notified of an assault that had taken place at a residence in the 200-block of Stone Avenue. The victim was visiting the resident of the location when the suspect showed up at the residence. The known suspect, who did not live at the location, then assaulted the victim. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arrival. The individual sought medical treatment for their injuries. Investigation continues.

Paris Police responded to 129 Calls for service and made three arrest on December 19, 2018.
