Paris Police Report Feb. 27

Paris Police responded to a robbery call in the 200-block of N. Main 8:32 pm on February 26, 2019. It was reported that a young Hispanic male entered the store and produced a handgun and demanded money from the register. The clerk refused and attempted to walk away. The suspect then pulled the trigger and shot the clerk with a BB gun. The suspect then left the store. the investigation continues.

Lamar County arrested 24-year-old Justin Todd Peek, of Annona, on a Municipal Court warrant and brought to the Police Department to be booked. Upon entering the jail, Peek was found to be in possession of marijuana. Peek was additionally charged with possessing a prohibited substance or item in a correctional facility. He is awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police stopped two pedestrians at 5:32 am on February 27, 2019, in the 200-block of NE 17th and attempted to detain them. Reportedly, 41-year-old Ferlandale Karwaski Beene, of Bogata, ran from the officers. After a short foot chase, Beene was apprehended and found to be in possession of several small baggies of methamphetamine and a digital scale. Beene was charged with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance of more than one gram but less than four grams, resist arrest search or transport, and evading arrest or detention. Reportedly, 22-year-old Sheldon Maurice Antonio Adams, of Paris, was arrested after resisting and running from another officer. Adams was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged with evading arrest or detention with a previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest. Both were placed in the city jail waiting to be transferred to the Lamar County Jail. 

Paris Police responded to 67 calls for service and arrested four people on February 26, 2019.
