Paris Police Report For Friday, February 7

An officer was on patrol Thursday night at 10:37 in the 500 block of Tudor St. when he observed a person operating a motorcycle without lights. The bike accelerated when the officer attempted to talk with the rider and committed several traffic violations. The rider then turned the lights on briefly and then turned them back off to elude capture but finally stopped in the 500 block of 2nd NE. The officer arrested Travion DeMarcus Johnson, 19, of Paris. Johnson claimed ownership of the motorcycle and claimed to be just riding around. There was no vehicle number plate, but a check of the VIN revealed the owner had reported it stolen in September of 2024 out of the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson could not or would not provide viable information as to his purchase of the motorcycle.

An officer made contact with Donnel Rose, 47, of Paris, on Thursday in the 600 block of W. Kaufman St. Police confirmed that Rose had a warrant for Sexual Assault originating in June of 2024. They arrested Rose and later found he had possession of synthetic marijuana.

For this reporting period, officers made 26 traffic stops, arrested two adults, and answered 98 calls for service.
