Paris Police Report For Friday (Jan 21)

Thursday morning at 08:27, officers responded to a burglary of a building in the 2600-block of Lamar Avenue. A business associate advised that within the last week and a half that unknown suspect (s) had entered unlocked storage shed located on the property and stole an assortment of lawn equipment, valuing over 800 dollars, leaving other valuables undisturbed. Investigators will check surrounding security camera footage for any leads.

Thursday afternoon at 1:57, officers met with a victim in the police department lobby. The victim advised that last Tuesday, while staying in a hotel in the 1900-block of Lamar Avenue with a female, she invited a female friend of hers over. The female friend arrived with a male unknown to the victim other than “first name,” but was allowed by the victim to drive his 2020 Nissan a few blocks away to a nearby convenience store. After fifteen minutes, the subject had not returned, and the victim was unsuccessful in contacting the subject. Red River and McCurtain County Departments reached the victim advising him that his vehicle had been in a high-speed chase with law enforcement, ending with it totaled. All agencies will continue investigating.

The Paris Police Department responded to 70 calls for service and arrested three people ending Thursday (Jan 20).
