Paris Police Report for Friday July 7

Officers responded to a robbery complaint in the 300 block of NE 6th. Officers were told that earlier in the day the complainant had been robbed at knifepoint by two known suspects. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.

Paris Police made contact with 34-year-old  John Smith in the 1200 block of Fitzhugh because of an outstanding warrant. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Officers went to the Lamar County adult probation office to serve a warrant and made contact with 22-year-old Russell Helsel. He was arrested on a motion to revoke his probation and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Paris Police responded to a traffic hazard complaint in the 2400 block of Lamar Ave and observed 45-year-old Sheri Willhite riding a bicycle in and out of traffic. Officers arrested Willhite for possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor.

Officers responded to the 400 block of NE 8th in Paris in regards to a criminal trespassing complaint. Lisa Payton, 40, was arrested an outstanding bond surrender warrant and was placed under arrest.

Officers responded to the 3100 block of Graham after they were notified that a motorcycle was lying next to the road and then received word that a motorcycle had been stolen from a location nearby. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the 200 block of N Collegiate and learned that a bullet had passed through the roof of the building causing damage. The investigation is continuing.

Paris Police are investigating an incident that occurred in the area of 8th and Tudor. A known suspect allegedly damaged the complainant’s vehicle and then attempted to hit the owner by accelerating toward him with his vehicle. No one was struck or injured.

Officers responded to the 600 block of NE 5th on a theft of a vehicle complaint. Officers were told that a red Suzuki GSX1300R motorcycle had been taken from that location by an unknown suspect.

Paris Police was called to the 3000 block of Aikin Drive in regards to investigate a theft complaint. Someone took a Kawasaki four-wheeler from the complainant’s yard. Officers later recovered the four-wheeler in the 2800 block of Lamar Ave.
