Paris Police Report For Friday (Mar 3)

Wednesday morning at 9:58, police met with a construction business owner in the 1200 block of SE 12th Street at a duplex under construction site and took a Burglary of a Building Report. The owner was last at the area a couple of weeks ago and returned today to discover that the dishwasher and the kitchen sink for both units, waiting to be installed, were no longer there, resulting in a loss of over $1,000.00. The owner suspects the suspect would have to be someone familiar with the building due to the keypad door locks.

Nicole Urquhart | Aaron Lee Kitchens

Police worked a Burglary of a Residence in the 500-block of SE 17th Street Thursday morning at 7:42. Officers received a description of a male and a female suspect, and officers stopped homeless Heather Nicole Urquhart, 37, fitting the report in the area for walking on the wrong side of the roadway. Urquhart confessed that she and homeless Aaron Lee Kitchens, 47, had taken items from the residence. They charged them with Burglary of a Habitation. Police located Kitchens under a house with several stolen items in his possession and charged him with Criminal Trespass-B. The suspects had removed a water heater from the residence and strapped it to a baby stroller.

A Police Department Community Service Officer spoke with a subject in the police lobby Thursday morning at 10:35. They stated that he met a female at a local restaurant claiming to be from Tennessee and visiting family here in late December or early January. Later, he received a check from VSE Aviation for $8,100.00 out of Florida, which the female had texted him to expect. He deposited the check, spent some money, and invested some in Exxon. However, his bank informed him that the note was fraudulent.

Zachary Lee Cole

Thursday afternoon at 2:25, officers initiated a traffic stop on a three-occupant vehicle in the 1800 block of Lamar Avenue because of an expired registration. They took the driver, Zachary Lee Cole, 27, of Paris, into custody and booked him into the Paris Jail for a Lamar County Motion to Revoke Probation-Possession of a Controlled Substance Warrant. The other occupants were released, and they impounded the vehicle.

Gregory Gene Mallory

At 2:53 Thursday afternoon, a police officer stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the 1000 block of North East 7th Street. The driver identified himself as Grady Johnson, and the passenger correctly identified the driver as Gregory Gene Mallory, 69, of Paris. Mallory was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for an Outstanding Parole Warrant-Delivery Cocaine X3, Failure to Appear, and On-View Fail to Identify Fugitive Intent Give False Information.

The Paris Police Department responded to 59 Calls for Service and arrested five people ending on Thursday (Mar 2).
