
On Thursday, May 23, at 9:31 am, as Paris Officers were patrolling through a parking lot in the 2500 block of North Main Street, they observed a white male asleep in the driver’s seat of a non-running vehicle. While checking the welfare of the male, a pink glass pipe was in plain view. During a probable cause search, plastic baggies containing a white crystal-like substance, testing positive for methamphetamine, were located. They arrested Russell David Doss, 54, for Possession of a Controlled Substance-State Jail Felony.
On Thursday, May 23, at 12:15 pm, a Paris Officer responded to the police lobby and spoke to a victim of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Three days prior, two firearms, a $1,000 Stribog and a $432 Taurus G3, had been stolen from his vehicle while parked in the 1200 block of East Houston Street. He did not think he could report the firearms stolen without serial numbers. He stated that Lamar County Deputies, on May 22, 2024, during a house raid, had recovered both guns.

On Thursday, May 23, at 1:26 pm, a Paris Officer observed a passenger car run a stop sign in the 200 block of SW 7th Street and initiated a traffic stop. Passenger Mary Ella Bailey, 60, had an outstanding warrant out of Lamar County and was taken into custody for Felony Theft Property of less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions and booked into the Paris Jail. The driver was given a warning for the violation and released from the scene.

On Thursday, May 23, at 2:32 pm, Paris Officers observed Shawn Michael Lehman, 37, in the 1300 block of Clarksville Street and confirmed him with two Municipal Court-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Warrants. During a search of Lehman, incident to arrest, Lehman had possession of Meth and officers added a charge of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G. The back seat passenger, Chelsea Debra Lynn Wortham, 37, was arrested for an outstanding Felony Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Warrant, MTR-Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B <1G. They booked them into the Paris Jail.

On Thursday, May 23, at 5:41 pm, a Traffic Stop was initiated in the 1700 block of Lamar Avenue on a 2024 Camaro for running a red light. The driver, Christian Medina, 19, had an outstanding warrant out of Lamar County and was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail for Felony Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle Deadly Weapon.
Paris Police Department responded to 78 Calls for Service, arrested six adults, and initiated 16 Traffic Stops.
