Paris Police Report For Friday (May 31)

Lesley Hayes Wood, 43 of Paris, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. Officers stopped a vehicle which contained a driver and two passengers with one passenger not wearing a seat belt. The stop took place in the 3000-block of Clarksville Thursday evening at 8:58. Canine Cupa made an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted. A subsequent search was made of the interior, which led to the discovery of a glass pipe and meth. Other individuals in the car were also arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants from both Lamar County and Paris Municipal Court.

A counterfeit $10 bill was turned over to police after a customer had received the controversial note in change from the Love’s Travel Plaza. There is no information available as to when the bill was taken by the business.

Thursday (May 30), Paris Police responded to 136 calls for service, making seven arrests. One of the arrests involved a mental commitment, five others on misdemeanor charges, and there was one on drug charges.
