Paris Police Report For Friday (Nov 16)

A call to a local retail store in the Paris Towne Center shopping center regarding a theft ended with an arrest for warrants and two felony charges. Loss prevention had detained an individual after seeing the person place items on his person and leaving the store.  When the officer arrived and took the suspect into custody, two warrants for Probation Revocation and two city traffic court warrants were found outstanding during the investigation. Jason Mark Draper, 40 of Paris, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after finding drugs on his person. The original theft complaint was a misdemeanor, but prior convictions for theft increased the charge to a felony. Draper remains in city jail awaiting arraignment.

A disturbance of two men involved with the same woman ended up with a single gunshot being fired into a pickup. Officers responded to the victim’s address, and investigation took them to the 1300-block of NE 27th. That is where the incident took place. Police recovered a handgun and bullet from that location. The investigation continues.

Officers Responded to 92 calls for service and arrested eight. One arrest involved felony charges, and seven pertained to misdemeanor offenses
