Paris Police Report For Monday (Apr 09)

Paris Police arrested Jacob Helsel, 25, on an outstanding warrant for criminal non-support.

Marcus Smith

Officers attempted a traffic stop on Marcus Smith, 25, around SW 4th and W. Sherman. He tried to evade them, and it ended up in a foot chase on SW 15th. They arrested Smith after finding 5.5 ounces of marijuana and a handgun that previously the owner reported stolen.

Wesley Sullivan

Police worked a disturbance in the 2100-block of Jackson. The suspect, Wesley Sullivan, 28, had left the scene. Officers located him around on S. Collegiate. They noticed he had tossed a backpack from the vehicle, which had methamphetamine. Sullivan is in Lamar County Jail.

Officers worked a burglary. An unknown suspect forced entry into the building and took several keys and two vehicles in the 200-block of E Neagle. They found one abandoned. Police found the second vehicle in Commerce.

Police worked another burglary in the 1100-block of SE 13th Street. An unknown suspect had forced entry into the residence and took numerous items of clothing.

Someone broke into a vehicle and took a .45 caliber handgun. That was in the 1900-block of Lamar Ave.

Police worked a shooting in the 800-block of Deshong Drive, which occurred at another location. An unknown black male suspect had reportedly shot the complainant. The victim is in stable condition.
