Last Friday morning at 11:57, Paris Police Officers responded to the 800 block of NE 13th Street, where the complainant stated that her daughters were fighting. The suspect also said that she would kick the victim in her stomach. Officers took a report to investigate an Assault on a Pregnant Person.

Friday afternoon at 3:52, officers made a traffic stop on a single occupied vehicle in the 500 of Clarksville Street for an expired motor vehicle registration. They found a cigarette package containing a bag with a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers arrested Bryan Lynn Thompson, 52, of Paris, for Possession of a Controlled Substance and for failing to Identify Intent to Give False/Fictitious Info when he provided a false name, claiming to have a twin brother. Thompson was booked into the Paris Police Jail and later transferred to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday morning, just after midnight, an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the 300 block of Fitzhugh Ave for traffic violations. The vehicle continued to move and did not immediately yield to emergency lights and sirens but eventually stopped in the 600 block of Fitzhugh Ave. The driver, Jackie Joe Jones, 71, of Paris, smelled of an alcoholic and had slurred speech and red-glassy eyes. Jones refused to exit the vehicle, perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated third or More and Resist Arrest Search or Transport. They released the front-seat passenger but booked Jones into the Paris Police Jail.

On Sunday afternoon, an officer initiated a traffic stop at 1:20 in the 1300 block of East Sherman Street for Expired Motor Vehicle Registration. Drugs were located inside the vehicle and also in the trunk. Driver Krissi Ann Green, 43, of Clarksville, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance for possessing THC Gummies. Additionally, officers arrested Anthony Dean Cabler, 48, of Paris, for two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Manufacture Deliver Controlled Substance for possessing Methamphetamine, THC Gummies, Synthetic Marijuana (K2), and one Hydrocodone pill. They booked both into the Paris Police Jail.
The Paris Police Department responded to 169 calls for service and arrested 19 adult persons over the weekend ending Sunday (Feb 23).
